The Vietnamese Character Set 2007 with Unicode support

The Vietnamese Character Set 2007 works in all Microsoft Windows versions: Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows Millennium, Windows 2003, Windows XP, and Windows Vista. You can type Vietnamese in most Windows applications using Vietnamese VNLabs fonts and Unicode fonts.

Unicode is a standard adopted by major companies such as: IBM, Apple, Microsoft, Sun, HP, Oracle, etc.. providing a unique and universal coding to all languages in the world across all computer platforms. Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP as well as Mac OS X all support Unicode.

Những ưu điểm của Unicode

1. Tất cả Computer mới đều dùng một tiêu chuẩn chung.
2. Nhiều fonts installed sẵn trong Windows ME/NT/2000/XP (Times, Courier, Arial, Verdana, Tahoma) đều có sẵn tiếng Việt.
3. Có thể gửi e-mail bằng tiếng Việt mà người nhận không cần phải có font tiếng Việt vẫn đọc được (nếu dùng Internet Explorer hoặc Netscape Navigator V5 trở đi).
4. Phổ biến Web Site bằng tiếng Việt mà không cần phải dùng Dynamic Fonts và người đọc cũng không cần phải có font tiếng Việt nào cả (VNLabs, VPS, hoặc VNI, vv..).
5. Dùng trong các áp dụng cần phải xếp thứ tự (sorting) như spreadsheets hoặc database, tiếng Việt được sắp xếp đúng theo thứ tự tự điển.
